Louisa has been a director for Aptus Treatment Centre since 2007, and is the chair of the Board of Directors. Louisa is an Account Executive at RDA Inc., an independent insurance brokerage. Louisa focuses on developing new accounts for personal insurance. She is in charge of client satisfaction analysis and works closely with the marketing team. Louisa is a first-generation Canadian, her family emigrating from Italy. She has volunteered for the Bel Canto Foundation which promotes Italian-Canadian heritage. Louisa also co-chaired fundraising initiatives responsible for the new vascular surgery unit for Sunnybrook Hospital.

Frank is a tax partner and leader of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice of KPMG’s Toronto office with over 22 years of experience. He is also a member of KPMG’s Global Steering Committee. His practice focuses on Canadian corporate taxation. Frank has experience advising clients on reorganizations, providing structuring advice on international expansion, including the centralization of intellectual property, assisting clients in evaluating M&A opportunities with due diligence services and providing tax structuring advice on efficient integration of acquired businesses. Frank acts as Treasurer for Aptus Treatment Centre, and has been a director since 2013.

Dustin Paterson is an experienced business lawyer with HazloLaw who works closely with clients in a variety of industries, representing start-up companies in the technology and health sciences sectors, not-for-profit corporations, independent entrepreneurs as well as multinational corporations. Dustin received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa in 2014 where he graduated cum laude. While attending law school Dustin received the Honourable Vincent Drouin prize in constitutional law and the McCarthy Tétrault LLP technology law award. Dustin is an avid cyclist and proud father to his son.

From 2014, Paul acted as Board Chair for Aptus Treatment Centre, following his career as President and CEO for Holcim Canada. At Aptus, Paul participated on all board committees, including those concerning quality services, governance, housing, and finance. He was the chair of the Development & Marketing Committee for Aptus. Since 2015, Paul has been the co-chair of the Aptus Charity Golf Classic. Paul has now retired from the Board, but will continue to play an active role with Aptus' Fundraising team. Paul and his wife Jean are godparents to a person supported by Aptus.

Jean François is an experienced Data Scientist who currently works as Manager Merchandise Analytics at Walmart. He has over 5 years of experience in manipulating data to help businesses across different industries (Retail, Banking, Hospitality, Travel, Loyalty Marketing, Non-profit) make better decisions. He strongly believes that technology can be leveraged to create a better world for everyone. He is mentoring Data Scientists within Data Science Nigeria, one of Africa’s largest Artificial Intelligence communities, which uses Artificial Intelligence to help Africa’s socio-economic development. Jean François earned his Masters in Economics from Sherbrooke University in Quebec and his Bachelor from Jendouba University in Tunisia.

Edward is the co-founder of DD Community Connector and the ME & Lau Family Foundation. He has a Master of Arts Degree in Public Policy and Administration from Ryerson University. In recognizing Edward’s contribution to the community for people with intellectual disabilities, Edward was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. Edward is currently a Board of Directors at Community Living Toronto and Community Living York South.

Don Logie is a senior real estate executive with extensive experience in the development and operation of commercial, industrial and residential real estate with particular emphasis on mixed-use developments. Don has been involved in the development and asset management of over 3,000 residential units and more than 20 million sq. ft. of retail and office developments. Don is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and of the International Conference of Shopping Centres. Don received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and his MBA, graduating on the Dean’s list, from the University of Toronto. Don is a parent to a person who has a developmental disability.

Michael is a partner within RSM Canada’s Audit and Assurance group, working with private companies, professional service firms, and not-for-profit organizations. Michael is well versed in Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS). He is sought for his strategic advice, leveraging over 20 years of experience across all sectors. A graduate of York University, Michael is a CPA, CA, having earned his designation in 1995 and his CPA (Illinois) in 2001.

Gagan Shokar is a Registered Nurse and National Manager of Quality and Risk for home and community care. She is a passionate nurse leader with experience in risk management, professional practice, consulting, and occupational health. Gagan is a first-generation Canadian, her family emigrating from India. Gagan received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta in 2017, and is currently working towards a Masters of Health Administration.

Sue Simone is a retired Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Communications at CIBC Mellon and was a member of their executive management committee. Sue oversaw the Human Resources department and was responsible for CIBC Mellon’s corporate communications and public affairs activities, including internal and external communications, public relations and corporate social responsibility strategic support. Sue earned her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and her certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Windsor. She is also a member of the Human Resources Professionals Association.
