Paul has been a director for Aptus Treatment Centre since 2014, and is the chair of the Board of Directors. Paul, now retired, was formerly the President and CEO for Holcim Canada, where he spent 39 years of his career. Paul is still active on five advisory boards in the construction/building material sector. At Aptus, Paul participates on all board committees, including those concerning quality services, governance, housing, and finance. He is the chair of the Development & Marketing Committee for Aptus. Since 2015, Paul has been the co-chair of the Aptus Charity Golf Classic. Paul and his wife Jean are godparents to a person supported by Aptus.

Frank is a tax partner and leader of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice of KPMG’s Toronto office with over 22 years of experience. He is also a member of KPMG’s Global Steering Committee. His practice focuses on Canadian corporate taxation. Frank has experience advising clients on reorganizations, providing structuring advice on international expansion, including the centralization of intellectual property, assisting clients in evaluating M&A opportunities with due diligence services and providing tax structuring advice on efficient integration of acquired businesses. Frank acts as Treasurer for Aptus Treatment Centre, and has been a director since 2013.

Louisa is an Account Executive at RDA Inc., an independent insurance brokerage. Louisa focuses on developing new accounts for personal insurance. She is in charge of client satisfaction analysis and works closely with the marketing team. Louisa is a first-generation Canadian, her family emigrating from Italy. She has volunteered for the Bel Canto Foundation which promotes Italian-Canadian heritage. Louisa also co-chaired fundraising initiatives responsible for the new vascular surgery unit for Sunnybrook Hospital. Louisa joined the board in 2007 and now acts as secretary. Louisa participates actively on the Development and Marketing Committee for Aptus, as well as Aptus’ event committees.

Vilma immigrated to Canada from Italy as a child. Vilma is a retired social worker for the Region of Peel Social Services. For over 35 years, Vilma has volunteered for numerous organizations, including the Scalabrini International Migration Network, an international human rights organization. Vilma has been on the board of directors since 1997. Vilma is the creator and founder of the Possible Dream Gala, Aptus’ largest fundraiser from 1997 to 2017. Vilma participates on two board committees for Aptus, concerning housing and development. Vilma acts as Board Liaison for the Family Advisory Committee, where families provide feedback and input on Aptus services and mission.

Constance (“Connie”) Gilbert has had a career in music, both as a teacher and artist manager (formerly with Haber Arts Management). Connie joined the Aptus board of directors in 1997 and became one of its longest-standing board presidents. She supported the launch of Aptus’ school of the arts, including music, visual arts, photography lab and theater. Connie now participates actively on the Finance Committee, the Governance Committee and the Planning & Quality Committee. Prior to Aptus, Connie was on the board of directors for the McMichael Gallery and the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto Canada (MOCA).

Lena has been a director for Aptus Treatment Centre, since 2011, including a 3-year term as President. Lena is a retired Account Executive for IBM Canada with over 30 years’ experience in a broad range of IT. Her experience included managing Application Management Services of 450 staff and a budget of $50M, leadership roles in Y2K, SARS, and 2003 Black out, as well over ten years in management of joint development projects in the USA, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Europe. As a certified Project Manager, Lena established IBM Canada’s enterprise wide Delivery Excellence Service. Lena is a first-generation Canadian from Malta.

Tom Muir is President of Muir Investments Limited, a private investment company. He is a member of the Boards of Directors for CI Financial Corporation, Solium Capital Inc., Brewers Retail Inc., Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation (Past-Chair). From 2007 to 2016 he was Co-Managing Director of Muir Detlefsen & Associates Limited, a private co-investment company. Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Development Officer for Maple Leaf Foods Inc. Tom joined the Board of Directors of Aptus in 2015 and chairs two committees concerning service quality and housing. Tom’s son Christopher is supported by Aptus.

As a senior tax partner at Collins Barrow Toronto, with over 20 years of public practice experience. Maria advises private, public and multinational corporations across a wide range of industry sectors in the areas of corporate restructuring, international tax planning, as well as estate, wealth-preservation and succession planning. Her strategic tax advice and tax-efficient solutions have proved integral in structuring many complex business transactions involving mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Maria is a CPA, CA, having earned her designation in 1997. Maria has been a director for Aptus since 2015 and participates on the Finance Committee.

Goffredo has been active in GTA construction since 1976. He co-founded Vitullo Plumbing with his brother and acts as its president. He also founded Mozaik Homes, now run by his son, Robert. Goffredo is Aptus’ longest-serving board member, joining the board in 1990. His daughter Julie is supported by Aptus. Goffredo launched the Builder’s Golf Classic tournament to fund ongoing repair work for Aptus’ supportive houses. Goffredo now co-chairs the Aptus Charity Golf Classic, which supports year-round learning for Aptus participants and the greater community at Aptus Teaching Landscape. Goffredo participates on Aptus’ committee concerning housing.
